Rhyl is a popular family seaside resort, featuring miles of clean, sandy beaches and plenty of amusements and amenities. The town has a harbour, a Sea Life Centre, and more, making it an ideal destination for families and tourists.
The beach at Splash Point, located at the north end of Old Golf Road, is part of a longer stretch of sand that runs from the town's main beaches. This beach is generally quieter than the main beaches in Rhyl, as it is a bit further away from the town centre. The beach is backed by a sea wall and features wooden groynes along its length. A promenade runs west from the beach, and the closest toilets are located just off the promenade, heading towards Old Golf Road.
The beach at Splash Point is used by families, fishermen, and watersport enthusiasts. Dog walkers are also a common sight on the stretch of sand between Old Golf Road and Prestatyn. The beach is dog friendly all year round, making it an ideal destination for pet owners. The nearby Rhyl Golf Club and Rhyl Coast Road offer additional amenities and activities for visitors.
The beach is part of the National Cycle Route 5 (NCR5), making it easy for cyclists to ride along the beach front towards Ffrith. Rhyl Station is approximately 1 mile away, providing easy access to the town and its amenities.
Splash Point is adjacent to the Wales Coast Path.
