Sandgate Town Centre Beach is a quiet and charming coastal spot located in Kent, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and rich history. .

Sandgate Town Centre Beach is a steeply sloping quiet shingle beach, which has a promenade and is very good for fishing. The beach is situated in the coastal village of Sandgate, which lies a couple of miles west of Folkestone, a short drive from the Channel Tunnel terminal.

The pebble beach stretches between Hythe and Folkestone and is backed by a two-mile long promenade used by pedestrians and cyclists. The area of beach immediately adjacent to the town slopes quite steeply into the sea, and at high tide, the water becomes deep quite quickly.

On clear days, it might be possible to see the outline of the French coast in the distance, and occasionally, dolphins may be spotted in the bay. Along the seafront, there are a series of Martello towers and a small castle, reminders of the town's heritage as a bastion against invaders from the continent. The beach is dog friendly, with some restrictions between Sandgate Castle to Battery Point from 1st May through to September 30.

The town of Sandgate has some good pubs and places to eat, as well as a number of antique shops and quaint independent shops which might be fun to explore on rainy days. There is a pay-and-display car park at the eastern end of the beach, and visitors can stay on the seafront at the Sandgate Hotel for a coastal break.

Sandgate has a rich naval and military history, and visitors can explore the remains of Sandgate Castle and the Martello towers along the seafront.

Sandgate Town Centre Beach is adjacent to the Kent Coastline Walk.
